Watersheds Assessments

The MidCoast Watersheds Council has always taken a scientific approach to restoration work. Strategic, basin-wide assessments ensure that efforts to restore habitat function maximize the benefits to the entire system.

An “LFA” is a Limiting Factor Analysis. These studies identify the habitat conditions that are restricting one or more salmon life history stage. The end product is a list of specific needs prioritized according to effectiveness, urgency, cost, and practicality. You can read the full LFA methodology here.
